Brandon Rith

Cost: $250 per hour

Accolades:

Brandon is founder and lead instructor of Basic Wisdom. After gaining tutoring experience while attaining his B.S. in Finance degree at Florida State University, he graduated after multiple showings on the Dean’s list in summer of 2007. Soon after, he attained his first industry job at Fidelity Investments in September 2007. He served in a variety of roles for the firm (from 2007-2018), including securities trader, inheritor services specialist, and various supervisory roles.

The majority of his career was spent at the firm as a Licensing Facilitator supporting numerous FINRA and NASAA exams, including the Series 7, 63, and 66. His colleagues consistently ranked him as a top-tier Facilitator, including a 100% top-box (7/7) rating from hundreds of learners from 2016-2018. In 2017, he was promoted to Delivery Experience Lead, effectively putting him in charge of Fidelity’s enterprise-wide licensing program covering over 2,000 employees annually.

In March 2018, Brandon left his Principal Facilitator position to focus full-time on Basic Wisdom. Since starting the company, Brandon has tutored students from various backgrounds for over 3,000 hours. Additionally, he partnered with Achievable as the content creator for its SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 programs. Brandon also runs a successful YouTube channel with nearly 3,000 subscribers.

Chris has 10 years of industry experience in the financial services industry working for Fidelity Investments and Empower Retirement as a licensed stockbroker. He’s serviced and placed trades for numerous account types, including brokerage, retirement, cash, and margin. He also has experience supporting workplace retirement plans such as 401(k), 401(a), 403(b), 457, as well as government and pension plans. His responsibilities included placing trades for numerous security types, performing money movement transactions, facilitating rollovers, solving complex issues, and answering questions on a broad spectrum of financial topics. 

In 2015 at Fidelity Investments, Chris was hired as a Licensing Facilitator to primarily support unlicensed new hire employees. He worked on a small, nimble team (alongside Brandon Rith) and specifically supported the SIE, Series 6, 7, 9, 10, 63, 65, and 66 licenses while managing hundreds of employees in numerous classes. He has experience teaching students in large classes (20+ employees), small groups (5 or fewer), and in one-on-one sessions.  During his tenure as Licensing Facilitator, he supported over 350 employees on their way to gaining FINRA and NASAA licenses.

Chris left the industry in 2021 to become a full time private tutor. He has over 500 tutoring hours of experience operating on his own, helping students one-on-one and in small groups to learn and simplify complex financial concepts. His specialties include identifying different learning styles and adapting his teaching style to fit his students’ learning preferences.
