About Basic Wisdom
Basic Wisdom was established in 2016 by Brandon Rith.
The mission is simple: to prove that complex financial concepts don't have to be confusing. Brandon breaks them down into small, clear, and fun pieces that make learning intuitive.
Brandon discovered his passion for teaching while earning his B.S. in Finance at Florida State University, where he graduated as a Dean’s List scholar. He launched his corporate career in 2007 at Fidelity Investments, holding roles spanning over a decade that ranged from Trading Specialist to Securities Principal.
However, he made his most significant impact as a Licensing Facilitator. Supporting hundreds of new hires annually through FINRA and NASAA exams (Series 7, 63, and 66), he consistently ranked as a top-tier instructor. Between 2016 and 2018, he maintained a perfect 100% satisfaction rating from over 1,000 candidates. This success led to his promotion to Delivery Experience Lead in 2017, where he managed a team of 15 facilitators and directed Fidelity’s enterprise-wide licensing program for over 2,000 employees each year.
In 2018, Brandon left the corporate world to dedicate himself fully to Basic Wisdom. His most significant undertaking was a partnership with Achievable, where he architected the entire curriculum for seven major licensing exams (SIE, Series 6, 7, 9, 63, 65, and 66). This project was massive in scale: he authored the equivalent of seven full textbooks, wrote over 10,000 practice questions, and produced over 10 hours of video lessons. He also meticulously curated practice exams to ensure they mirrored the difficulty and format of the real tests.
Today, he continues to reach students globally through his courses, corporate classes, tutoring, and YouTube channel.
